Sprinkler Valves

Here is a part of your system that you may not have seen before. Your controller sends a current to the solenoid on your zone valve which opens the valve and turns on the zone. A good quality brand valve should last 20+ years. When they eventually fail they will generally stick open and you will not be a le to turn off the zone or they might fail to seal completely when they shut which will show itself in the form of a soggy spot at the lowest head on that zone where the water continually trickles out. Most valves can be rebuilt with new internal parts fairly easily.
