Where to Go with the Water?

When designing a drainage system one of the questions to answer is where to ultimately go with the water. There are really only 3 legal answers. First is keep it on your property captured in a dry well. Second is to get it to the property line where it is currently naturally flowing, though hopefully in a bit more expedited manner. Lastly is get it all the way to the street.

The street is always the best option if possible. Dry wells will eventually fill in with silt and have limited volume. The property line may work, but what if there are obstructions on the other side of the fence? If you can get it all the way to the street, free flowing through the curb, you will have system set up for long term service with fewer possible problems/obstructions going forward.
