Drip irrigation is unfamiliar to some people, but it can work better that traditional methods in some cases. First of all it is very efficient since the water goes directly to the soil. It works great in beds since it can deliver water to exactly the right spots without being locked by growing plants like spray heads can be. It also works great in smaller or irregular areas where spray heads might not be a be to fit without a lot of overstay onto hardscape areas. You do have to be careful digging so you do not cut a dripline, but repairs generally do not require digging and are relatively easy.
