When installing a double check valve on an irrigation system it is important to get the box buried in just the right position. Here is an example of how not to do it. Here the box is above grade which can be problematic in several ways. First of all it can be a trip hazard. I don't think any of us want to be sued for that. Secondly, the lawn crew will have to work around it. Someday that lid will probably get mulched along with the grass. Then you have a hole that someone can break a leg falling into. It is so much better just doing it right the first time.
